CDCPS manages multiple campuses across Lawrence, MA, and serves 1,200 pre-kindergarten to 8th-grade students. \r\nCDCPS Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) are passionate about collaborating, monitoring, supporting, and guiding students to ensure their success inside and outside the classroom by delivering comprehensive speech and language services. Our Speech Language Pathologists believe all students will succeed with the proper scaffolds. Therefore, school SLPs offer our students holistic support while maintaining high expectations.\r\n

\r\nResponsibilities (included but not limited to):\r\n
    \r\n
  • Evaluate and screen students to assess speech and language abilities and needs\r\n
  • Write evaluation reports, including all speech/language assessments and goals\r\n
  • Determine and maintain programs based on goals set by an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Learning Plan\r\n
  • Determine the needs of individual children and provide services one-to-one or in small groups as deemed appropriate\r\n
  • Determine the needs of individual children within the classroom setting and provide services within the classroom as deemed appropriate\r\n
  • Serve as a consultant to classroom teachers as to how to better meet the communication needs of individual children within the group\r\n
  • Work in conjunction with the classroom teacher to incorporate the speech/language program into the curriculum\r\n
  • Work in conjunction with the Team to create Educational Plans for annual reviews and provide input for students who are involved with the three-year re-evaluation\r\n
  • Maintain logs and ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress;\r\n
  • Maintain and adheres to a daily schedule of activities, write progress reports, maintain clinical notes, and establish annual goals for students either through their IEP, 504 Plan, or a regular educational plan;\r\n
  • Attend parent conferences whenever possible;\r\n
  • Attend IEP, 504, or regular education meetings that involve students on caseload or when requested\r\n
  • All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.\r\n

\r\nCompensation:\r\n
    \r\n
\r\nWe offer a competitive compensation package and comprehensive health benefits. Speech Language Pathologists' starting salary is $60,000. There are also opportunities for educators to earn stipends for work in after-school programs and during school vacations.\r\n

\r\nQualifications:\r\n
    \r\n
  • Uphold a passionate belief in CDCPS' mission, values, and educational model\r\n
  • A Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology is required\r\n
  • A valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Speech Pathologist License is required\r\n
  • We are willing to support new hires get their Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC)\r\n
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children is preferred\r\n
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in collaborative planning and problem-solving\r\n
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills\r\n
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor\r\n
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and experience with the implementation of developmentally appropriate strategies\r\n
