The center's current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & well-being, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, long-term services & support, population & global health, and rural health. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decision-makers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. ABOUT THIS POSITION

The RA II is a contributing member of various research, technical assistance, policy development, and programmatic teams, depending on scope of work. The RA II will provide research and project support that contributes to a scientifically sound background for center activities. GHPC is hiring an RA II to be a contributing member of the Community Health Systems Development (CHSD) team, which provides a broad range of technical assistance to rural communities as they implement health improvement initiatives and build locally and regionally integrated health systems. Technical assistance is centered around helping communities develop a strategic approach to program implementation, build strong health networks, and focus on long-term sustainability. Essential to the success of this position is the ability to build positive relationships with representatives of grantee organizations and their collaborating partners. This position may require extensive national travel at certain times of the year.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ideal candidate will provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to communities via virtual meetings, webinars and on-site visits and workshops. In addition to supporting communities, the RA II will support CHSD team practice development by:

  • Helping to coordinate the development of new training tools, modules, and other resources.
  • Developing processes for assessing, understanding, and tailoring support to grantee needs.
  • Communicating the impact of grant funding on organizations, collaborations, and communities.
  • Manage and, as appropriate, lead the implementation of projects of varying size and complexity, including planning, organizing, and managing resources to achieve specific project goals and objectives.
  • Implement evidence-based and best-practice technical assistance and bring new methods and modes into the technical assistance work.
  • Participate in strategic meeting design and facilitation for clients and collaborative workgroups.
  • Serve as a coordinator to provide project management and support the management of grants and contracts.
  • Assist senior staff in identifying and responding to new research and funding opportunities.
  • Build relationships with clients and external stakeholders (e.g., state agencies, community groups, academic partners).
  • Prepare literature reviews, research papers, posters, oral presentations, white papers, briefs, and client reports.
  • Attend meetings and represent the GHPC at conferences and national meetings.
  • Serve as a mentor to students and RA Is.

The salary range for this position is $58,099 to$68,250.

***This is a regular, full-time position which involves on-campus and online duties, with job continuation dependent upon grant funding.

Qualifications:

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and one year of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of U.S. health care delivery systems and policy.
  • Experience providing technical assistance to programs or grantee organizations and applied research skills (qualitative and quantitative) are highly desired.
  • Knowledge and experience in health policy, collaborating with stakeholder groups, meeting design and facilitation.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Networking skills and aptitude for representing GHPC with local, state, and national organizations is also desired.
