Sr. Data Engineer, Service Manufacturing

Service Manufacturing BI team transforms data into actionable insights that inform its organization's strategic and tactical business decisions. As a Senior Data Engineer you will hold a highly visible analytical role that requires interaction with leaders across the organization to understand data needs and to reporting requirements, translate them into definitions and technical specifications to deliver data solutions. You will lead business intelligence solutions from requirements to design, develop and timely deployment with highest quality.


Responsibilities

• Work with our senior business leaders to set a roadmap and lead a team of analysts and engineers to deliver solutions
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain ETL jobs, dashboards/visualizations, and web applications that can scale with our business
• Troubleshoot technical issues with platforms, data discrepancies, alerts etc.
• Perform ad hoc analysis, insight requests, and data extractions to resolve critical business issues
• Analyze manufacturing, equipment and product field data and extract useful statistics and insights about failures to drive meaningful improvements to production quality and customer experience
• Work effectively with Engineers and conduct end-to-end analyses, from data requirement gathering, to data processing and modeling
• Maintain existing data visualizations, data pipelines and dashboard enhancement requests
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems to empower operational and exploratory analysis
• Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports

Requirements

• Degree in quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
• Extensive experience writing software with Python
• Experience with multiple data architecture paradigms (e.g. SQL, NoSQL, Kafka, Spark)
• Strong knowledge of data visualization techniques and tools using Tableau, Power BI, Apache Superset (Ziplabs Tesla Internal tool) etc.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience with web frameworks (i.e. Django, Flask etc.)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with Apache Airflow

Expected Compensation

$72,000 - $232,200/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
