General Purpose:

Lead and execute real-time manufacturing data capture opportunities for key performance indicators (KPIs), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and product inspection data for the Retort Solutions plants. Function as the division point-of-contact to collaborate with outside services and internal corporate IT/OT teams on development of technology related to strategy, processes, and budgeting.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive and support projects for digital technology across Retort Solutions manufacturing plants
  • Incorporate business insight to develop projects within IT/OT systems to support KPIs, SPC, and product inspection data capture within manufacturing operations
  • Conduct analysis, design, evaluation, modification, testing, and implementation of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and manufacturing systems
  • Serve as a subject matter resource in IT/OT systems for the Retort Solutions division
  • Participate on internal, cross-functional teams for continuous improvement, new development, and alignment of technology-related processes, procedures, and standards
  • Work directly with the corporate IT/OT teams, manufacturing plant teams, and division leadership to support long-term planning and annual budget development
  • Research and recommend latest technology solutions in manufacturing
  • Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements; report any non-conformities
  • Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)
  • Exhibit and mentor the values and ethics of DFA through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment

Requirements
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology/science, engineering, or related fields (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
  • 5 to 8 years in a food manufacturing environment with business system development, implementation, and integration, or relevant experience
  • 3+ years of project management experience, with a focus on IT infrastructure or OT systems deployments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in IT networks, virtual environments, and SCADA
  • Skill in critical thinking, analysis, mathematical calculations, and statistical evaluations
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing with various levels of personnel
  • Able to apply technology solutions to business problems
  • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
  • Able to present ideas using language that is relatable to business and end-users
  • Able to be flexible in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Able to understand job responsibilities and be self-directed and motivated in completing
  • Able to understand how role and deliverables relate to the DFA and Retort Solutions strategic plans
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
