The Opportunity

As a Senior Event Manager, you will execute and prioritize deliverables within integrated business support plans to meet business objectives. Reporting to the Head of the Event Center of Excellence in Munich, you will leverage global best practices, tools, and formats for region-specific initiatives as a member of Global Com.

The Senior Event Manager builds awareness of our brands, nurtures new and existing business relationships, strengthens reputational equity, cultivates interest in products and solutions, and ultimately generates revenue by planning, coordinating and hosting high-quality industry and proprietary business events.

Responsibilities:
  • Your primary responsibility will be to strategically lead, manage, and execute complex, large-scale cross-business unit events, while ensuring effective representation of senior event manager responsibilities for high-priority events
  • Coordinate and build alignment with the U.S. event team to ensure seamless collaboration and execution. Steer the resourcing and implementation of event support within the integrated business support planning process to achieve maximum impact.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Munich manager leading the Event Center of Excellence.
  • Represent the U.S. Event team as a key account to select c-suite business leaders and the marketing leads to ensure effective delivery of event goals and priorities
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to U.S. event managers, fostering a cohesive and collaborative team environment. This includes managing the overall list of prioritized team events along with the appropriate event tier.
  • Implement processes and best practices to improve team efficiency and outcomes (e,g. Sunset reviews, vendor assessments, feedback loops)
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to align goals, strategies, and event plans.
  • Ensure consistent and effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Addresses and resolves any issues or conflicts within the team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Assists with professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will possess the following experience, skills, and capabilities:
  • 10+ years in event planning, conference management and/or hospitality industry experience
  • Project management skills
  • 5+ years of people management required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic, creative, and analytical skills
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and influence management skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft products
  • Based in the Princeton, NJ office
