Sr. Finance Manager, Amazon Payments

The Amazon Payments Finance team is looking for a Senior Finance Manger to lead the Payments Acceptance and Experience (PAE) Finance team. PAE's mission is to build the most trusted, intuitive, and accessible payment experience on earth by providing customers the ability to pay on and off Amazon. PAE Finance is responsible for supporting the strategic payments partnerships, driving controllership of Amazon's Cost of Payments, and helping provide customers with a seamless shopping experience. The PAE finance leader will be responsible for leading the negotiations with our key payment partners through negotiations in order to drive cost to serve improvements. Additionally, this role will provide oversight of the key long-term strategic initiative to drive a unified payment experience (UPX) and simplify the way teams launch new payment methods for customers.
This leader will have a proven track record of being able to think strategically, by working through different negotiations but also while also being able to be tactical in helping manage the Cost of Payments for Amazon. This role will lead a team of 6 finance professionals.
Key job responsibilities
- Developing rhythm of business documents (i.e., Annual and 3-year Operating Plans)
- Support contract negotiations, providing thought leadership and strategic guidance to the team.
- Determining the appropriate investments to make and determine the corresponding ROI.
- Single threaded leader for the COP and Accounts Receivables for Amazon.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science) and 10+ years of finance experience OR Master's degree and 8+ years of finance experience
- 5+ years of direct management experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience
- 8+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 8+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 8+ years of mentoring junior finance and/or business team members experience
- 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience
- MBA, or CPA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
