Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Senior Box Office Manager will manage ticketing and box office operations for events such as concerts, festivals, sporting events, motorsports, and special events at Snapdragon Stadium and the adjacent Thrive Park. This position is responsible for planning, creating event builds and executing ticket sales in addition to delivering world-class customer experiences to ticket purchasers. This position will also oversee box office operations for the Stadium tenants including SDSU, SDFC, SD Wave FC and SD Legion. Responsibilities include all aspects of daily ticket sales and box office operations for Snapdragon Stadium on Ticketmaster.

This role will pay a salary of $85,000 to $105,000.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships with venue partners and clients including SDSU, SDFC, SD Wave FC, SD Legion, Feld, Live Nation and others.
  • Act as systems administrator for Ticketmaster ticketing system and direct box office operations and event ticketing staff.
  • Establish and review operational policies and procedures for the Box Office.
  • Manage all promoter communications for event setups including scaling, pre/on-sales, ticket promotions, discounts, group sales, daily reporting, etc.
  • Build, maintain, and manage all aspects of events on Ticketmaster ticketing system, including single events, VIP packages, platinum seating, aisle seating, and seat level pricing.
  • Update and relay all box-office related event information to each department and client.
  • Investigate and resolve ticket-related issues for both promoters and ticket buyers.
  • Prepare event settlements, statements, and required reports necessary for event settlement with promoters and artists.
  • Oversee all financial reconciliation in regard to daily reports and monthly reports.
  • Administration of daily box office deposits, maintaining safe logs, credit card sales reconciliation and preparation for armored car pick-up.
  • Personnel oversight of FT and PT Box Office Staff including hiring, training, evaluation, scheduling, supervision and corrective actions.
  • Management of all aspects of customer service as it relates to both internal and external customers, enforcing customer service principles and corporate initiatives.
  • Ensure all associates are trained to provide superior customer service to the consumer and capable on the Ticketmaster system.
  • Oversee will call for all ticketed events, ensuring compliance with all established policies and procedures.
  • Process/fill approved ticket requests; document all complimentary tickets issued.
  • Track attendance for all events, including pre-sales, walk-ups, promotions, discounts, etc.
  • Direct the creation and control of fiscal budget for the Box Office department.
  • Exercise confidentiality and integrity upon handling personal and financial customer information.
  • Setup scanners, gates, rules, exceptions, load events, and archive with the Access Management system.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty for events as assigned by the General Manager.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sports Management, Hospitality, Marketing or other related field from an accredited university preferred.
  • 6-8 years progressive box office management experience.
  • 6-8 years experience with large-scale events in a stadium, arena or festival setting.
  • 6-8 years of Ticketmaster software experience.
  • Experience working with live entertainment promoters, including, but not limited to: Live Nation, AEG and independent promoters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead a team and the ability to deal professionally, courteously, and tactfully with the public and coworkers.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to maintain composure and decision-making skills in stressful situations is a requirement. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize well to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate and develop an effective working relationship with fellow associates, managers, outside representatives and agencies.
  • Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days based upon event calendar
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) either manually or through the use of a calculator
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing is required. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in Spanish is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, graphic design, PowerPoint and Internet software
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Ticketmaster's ticketing software & terminology.
