The experimentation program sits within Spectrum's Data Platforms organization and consists of a core team of data scientists, data engineers, and software developers working collaboratively in our mission to provide the tools, trainings, and expertise that enables Spectrum employees to test product changes and uncover actionable data insights that drive product and service excellence. We provide Spectrum's in-house experimentation application and support in-depth analyses through partnerships between the data science and product teams. The Senior Manager will lead the data science team in stakeholder collaborations and the development of data tools and models, as well as support our company-wide experimentation education program.

As a Senior Data Science Experimentation Manager, you are r esponsible for the full-scope of advanced analytic techniques with the objectives of creating causal inferences, predictions, and recommendations for improvements to business processes, and the metrics to monitor those improvements. Requires a strong command of techniques and algorithms as well as an ability to determine where to invest time, synthesize actionable findings across diverse assignments, and present these findings to an audience with varying levels of background in analytics. This leadership position is responsible for managing employees, formulating and managing projects, and working with key customers in order to establish roadmaps, present results, and resolve issues.

  • Advising stakeholders and data science team members on the interpretation of results and identification of actionable next steps
  • Crafting a compelling story and presenting findings, suggested actions and changes to a broad audience


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications
  • Experience:
    • Statistical Analysis - 8+ years
    • Business Analysis - 6+ years
    • SQL/R/SAS Programming - 6+ years
    • Management and Supervision - 3-5+ years
    • Internal client relationship management - 3-5+ years
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or related quantitatively-focus field
  • Technical Skills:
    • Comprehensive skills and experience with R (required) and/or Python (desired) (including relevant packages) in support of advanced analytics
    • Advanced-level skills with relational databases, including SQL and utilizing data stored in complex schemas
    • Experience and solid theoretical foundation on the modeling process using a variety of algorithms Data
    • profiling, distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing
    • Holdout for testing, cross-validation
    • Data pre-processing, exploratory data analysis using a variety of techniques
    • Regression and classification using linear models, GLMs, and tree-based methods
    • Interpretation of model results, consideration of causality, treatment of multicollinearity
    • Synthesis and presentation skills
    • Basic understanding of data architecture, data warehouse and data marts
  • Skills:
    • Management experience in the field of analytics and/or data management.
    • Effective logical and analytic skills
    • Experience in the telecommunications industry, or two other consumer-based industries
  • Abilities:
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
    • Ability to continually expand skill set, and learn from and teach others
  • Schedule:
    • Office environment
    • Travel as required


Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or related field
  • Deep statistical knowledge and prior experience with A/B testing, research, and experimental design and implementation
  • Some experience with AWS, Jira, and Gitlab
  • Some experience with Hadoop, particularly HIVE and Spark Knowledge
  • Some exposure to Scala or other strongly typed programming language

The base pay for this position generally is between $110,800.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
