DAY TO DAY:

Insight Global is looking for a Sr Mechanical Engineer to work remotely for a large Engineering firm. This position will be responsible for developing design proposals, specifications, drawings, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost implications, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications. He or she will identify the project requirements, provide design solutions to meet the customer and site requirements, and ensure the customers best interests are protected during the project.

Responsibilities:

Tender Phase:

Develop appropriate design documents to support the proposal and allow the estimating team to assemble cost for the proposal.
Provide the technical narrative for the critical infrastructure to be incorporated into the proposal
Design Phase:

Perform site surveys to capture existing site conditions
Develop the MEP design documents for permit and construction
Construction Phase:

Participate in ongoing construction administration activities (RFIs, Shop drawings, site visits)
Must be willing to travel up to 25% within continental US.

Qualifications/Screening:

Minimum Technical Expertise:

Chiller Plant Design (VFD Pumps, air cooled/water cooled, cooling tower, controls and SOO)
Air handler sizing and selection (use of manufacturer software)
Building cooling load calculations (Trace 700 or Carrier HAP)
Controls (Diagrams, sequence of operations)
Air and water pressure drop analysis
Proficient in Autocad, knowledge in Revit is a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Knowledge of International Code Council (ICC)
Ventilation calculations (ASHRAE 62.1)
Energy analysis (ASHRAE 90.1)
Strong written language skill for proposal development
Previous experience in mission critical systems and plumbing is a plus.

Required Skills & Experience

MUST:
- bachelors in mechanical engineering
- PE License or scheduled to sit for PE exam
- Open to 25% of travel to client sites
- 3 years of working experience
