Job Description

Job Summary: This position is responsible for the high-quality finished product, quick response, and cycle times, as well as the constant improvement of manufacturing efficiencies. In addition, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining a safe work environment in compliance with all state and federal laws. The Senior Operations Supervisor will maintain plant manufacturing programs, continuous improvement in the quality of our products, and direct and drive all company continuous improvement efforts. Must have the ability to provide technical support (coil coating industry) and create standard operating procedures for running coil coating paint lines. Excellent ability to identify and resolve process and product problems leading to smooth production.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and direction to a team of employees on the plant floor.
2. Lead plant in continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Ensure employees complete required quality checks and audits.
4. Facilitate the onboarding and training of new employees, providing guidance, support, and technical instruction to ensure their successful integration into the team and their ability to contribute to the production process effectively.
5. Develop and implement innovative strategies to improve processes.
6. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the team.
7. Maximizes yield (product to raw material ratios)
8. Utilize production planning methods to maximize profitability while maintaining a satisfied customer base-this includes forecasting demand, reviewing inventory, determining, and selecting the best options for production, monitoring and controlling processes, and assessing and evaluating performance.
9. Collaborate with shift supervisors to address operational challenges and implement process improvements.
10. Coordinates with the quality department to ensure quality standards, processes, and procedures are adhered to.
11. Manage inventory levels, to minimize excess inventory.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the coil industry.

2. Knowledge of the coil coating process including metal substrates, metal cleaning, preparation, and application of coil coating products is preferred.

3. Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Certification is preferred.

4. Must be self-motivated, self-starting, and disciplined.

5. Must possess excellent communication skills; oral/written.

6. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, self-starter with strong influencing skills.

7. Personal and professional integrity are highly valued and expected.

8. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
