Amazon Fresh Stores, Workforce Planning - Sr. Program Manager - Launch, Retrofits and Events

Interested in helping to grow a business that is changing the way customers think about grocery? Amazon Fresh is looking for a customer obsessed and technically-savvy program manager to join its Workforce Planning Team (WPT).

WPT is responsible for ensuring Amazon Fresh Stores (AFS) are staffed appropriately to support customer demand, while achieving variable labor spend goals which driving business growth. WPT owns all labor planning and scheduling workflows across a complex software stack. We are seeking a program manager with previous retail scaling experience to help enable profitable new store openings, tech launches and major in-store marketing events.

In this role, you will dive deep to become a subject matter expert on AFS labor demand planning, scheduling and hiring processes. The role is both tactical and strategic in nature. You will partner with operations leaders, HR, workforce staffing, and L&D to execute end-to-end labor planning workflows for multiple concurrent events. You will also use data and anecdotal feedback to identify and implement best practices which optimize our program. The ideal candidate is passionate about being in stores, and interacting with field leaders and store associates. This is a crucial to understanding and scaling the Amazon Fresh Stores business line.

Key job responsibilities

• \tProgrammatically manage labor planning execution for new store launches, major remodels and critical events (IE - Holidays, Prime Day) which propel topline growth

• \tWork closely with analytics and finance partners to develop key labor planning metrics which measure program effectiveness and help identify areas for improvement

• \tIdentify ways to measure customer feedback at scale and utilize data-driven insights to implement new processes which are intuitive and solve critical problems for field leaders

• \tDefine and document launch standard operating procedures (SOPs)

• \tVisit stores to drive program adoption by teaching and coaching field leaders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of program or project management experience

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field

- Prior experience in program management with strong exposure to labor planning and retail operations. Experience in grocery or similar industries is preferred.

- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to influence and earn the trust of key partners, including senior level staff

- A strong mix of solution-oriented execution skills and long-term strategic thinking

- Ability to operate successfully and independently in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and automated self-service reporting tools (IE - Tableau)

- Not afraid to "get your hands dirty" in order to launch new stores effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
