FSU MAINTENANCE

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for removing, repairing, and replacing electric pumps, fans, and motors. This position is also responsible for performing preventative maintenance on the above listed items.

• Operates University vehicles and performs other related work as required in support of Facilities Maintenance.
• Repair/rebuild pumps, fans, and electric motors to be returned to service, including electrical duties
• Remove and/or replace pumps, fans, and electric motors around campus. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on laboratory exhaust fans and motors. Performs related electrical duties including troubleshooting, repair, replacing, installing wiring, conduit, motor controls including variable speed drive start up.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency and two years' experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years. Technical or vocational may substitute for experience.
• A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

• Ability to utilize technical skills.
• Knowledge of the practices and the ability to perform skilled carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or other related trades work.
• Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
• Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
