Are you a Sr Software Developer interested in delivering high valued security outcomes for Amazon? We have an opportunity for a Sr. SDE in the Enterprise Engineering organization. We are looking for a full stack developer who is ready to improve Amazon's security posture while improving customer experience.

In this role, you will be part of a team building security solutions for Amazon. You will invent and simply new ways to improve security, with visibility to senior Amazon leaders. You will be build zero-trust security principles into actions for Amazon. You'll be part of a growing, fast paced, and innovative team. You'll have ownership, not just responsibility.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will play a key role in owning and driving the design and development of new software services, components, and features. In addition to addressing the core functional requirements, you will add value across several fronts like Extensibility, Scalability, Resiliency, Testability, and Customer Experience. You will collaborate and create a strong relationship with your customers, peer teams and stakeholders. You will create high level designs, systems architectures, and detailed technical designs for your team. You will bring your Are Right, A lot experience to evaluate possible options and choose the right path. You'll be part of a small team tasked with a big ask.

Key job responsibilities

- Design, development and maintenance of software systems.

- Working in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software in rapid increments.

- Refactoring existing software, establishing architectural principles, selecting design patterns.

- Optimizing processes to run efficiently on large-scale computing resources.

- Working with software engineers to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.

- Make strong data-driven architectural/design decisions while translating business requirements to technology architecture.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 10+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
