Sr. Technical Program Manager, AWS Sustainability Tech

Seattle, Washington

Employer: Amazon
Industry: Project/Program/Product Management--Non-Tech
Salary: $133900 per year
Job type: Full-Time

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain - and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Are you excited to launch cloud-based customer sustainability projects? Do you have experience delivering data-driven AWS products at scale?

The AWS Infrastructure Sustainability Tech team is looking for a passionate, results-oriented Senior Technical Program Manager to own the delivery of customer sustainability products. The AWS Infrastructure Sustainability Tech organization builds solutions to integrate environmental sustainability data across AWS infrastructure and operations. We build products to support AWS progress towards Amazon's net zero carbon goal and deliver decarbonization and sustainability benefits to AWS customers. This role will own the technical scoping and management of AWS Sustainability products end-to-end for the organization.

A successful candidate will partner with AWS service teams, AWS Infrastructure engineering teams, and AWS Sustainability stakeholders to make strategic trade-offs between short term opportunities and long term customer and industry trends. The ideal candidate has experience scoping and managing an external-facing AWS service and passion for the energy and sustainability space. The candidate will be adept at anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, and balancing customer needs versus technical constraints. The candidate will need the ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a timely manner.

Key job responsibilities

- Collaborate with Product and customer-facing teams to help define requirements and roadmaps. Understand the big picture of the project design.

- Partner with Engineering to drive efficiencies in engineering development and ensure the right things are delivered to customers at the right time.

- Manage dependencies across AWS and Amazon teams and work cross-functionally to bring the product vision to life.

- Make appropriate trade-offs to balance business and customer needs versus technical constraints and timelines. Provide escalation management when needed.

- Proactively identify and resolve issues to drive strategic initiatives end-to-end.
