The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazon's scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally, and drive solutions that enable our customers, businesses, and the world to become more sustainable.

The Sustainability Measurement & Abatement Technology team builds technical solutions to track, record, and forecast Amazon's WW impact on the Environment (i.e., Carbon, Water, Waste, etc.). This includes calculating past and current impacts and future abatement plans, ensuring credibility through standards and validations, and highlighting non-obvious opportunities for Amazon's global business teams.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager (Technical) who is passionate about both product management and environmental sustainability. In this role, you will own building, prioritizing, and delivering the technical roadmap to support measuring and improving Amazon's global environmental footprint.

You will work with experts throughout the company to identify technical products to improve speed, quality, and usability of Amazon's Scope 1 and Scope 2 usage data and abatement activities.

Key job responsibilities

- Work on a variety of challenging problems that have to potential to significantly impact sustainability objectives within and outside of Amazon

- Collaborate with groups of experts and cross-functional colleagues in an agile environment

- Define specific product solutions to address gaps in operational decisions and reporting across the entire product footprint

- Work with business leaders, scientists, and economists to translate business and functional requirements into concrete deliverables, including the design, development, testing, and deployment of highly scalable, distributed services

- Establish and own prioritization of mechanisms to mitigate identified sustainability impact hotspots

- Discover, define, and apply scientific, engineering, and best business practices

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree

- 6+ years of technical product or program management experience

- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

- Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

- Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

- MBA

- Experience bridging technical and business teams to collect and refine requirements, prioritize incoming work requests, and ensure all committed work is delivered on time

- Experience in an operational environment developing, fast-prototyping, piloting and launching analytic products

- Experience with end to end product delivery

- Data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills, including deep knowledge of statistical analysis, Excel, SQL and/or other analytical techniques

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
