A small real estate development firm in San Diego, CA is searching for a sharp and adaptable Staff Accountant to join their team! They are looking for someone with at least 3 years of accounting experience to manage a variety of accounting tasks while maintaining a daily presence in the office. Salary Range: $30 - $35 / hour DOE

Staff Accountant Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a solid foundation in AR/AP and general ledger management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office 365;comfort with technology is a must
  • Experience with Timberline/Sage 300 is highly preferred
  • A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred but experience is considered
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to work dynamically in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to multitask effectively
  • Resilience and adaptability, complemented by a readiness to engage in direct communication
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, including the willingness to ask questions and manage stress in a productive manner

Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of up to 300 checks per month
  • Prepare bank and equity draws for CFO review, maintaining precise financial records
  • Conduct cost accounting tasks, including the review of job cost and contract reports
  • Update and submit budgets for review, ensuring alignment with financial projections
  • Generate and submit monthly financial reports to equity partners for review
  • Manage accounts receivable/payable reconciliations, focusing on project billing
  • Oversee and track sub-contractor contracts, collaborating with the Controller and COO
  • Assist with compliance requirements, including the management of certificates of insurance
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, adapting to the versatile needs of a small office
