Staff Backend Software Engineer - Credit Card (CC)

Insight Global is searching for a Staff level Backend Engineer. As an engineer on our team, youll architect and solve complex problems that will directly influence the direction of the credit card space. There's a wide range of challenges to tackle from ensuring the secure handling of millions of dollars worth of customer transactions, to developing innovative new credit card features, to optimizing our API response times to enhance the customer experience. We have a strong culture of code reviews, and a focus on security, with the end goal of writing and shipping high-quality code by getting things right the first time. The staff level role is where an engineer can bring their own voice to the day to day role and provide leadership and ownership through their work and drive.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 8+ years of software engineering experience within start up cultures, digital assets or financial environments
Experience with using Scala or C++ (preferred) or Java for backend development on consumer facing platforms D2C Frontend: Typescript
Provide technical input and knowledge to the planning, design, and requirements process for new products and features leading with your own voice and ideas
Perform code reviews and team moments work for code correctness, style, and information security concerns.
Improve the performance, maintainability, and operations of the code base by engaging in occasional refactoring and upgrade projects.
Design, develop and test operating systems level software.
Oversee general functionality of the risk systems and the utilization or development of new monitoring tools for tracking and reporting performance.
Plan and coordinate project implementation support efforts and estimate work efforts and schedule for supporting project development and deployment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working with or being a power user of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and/or blockchain technology.
Work experience or knowledge of the finance industry, payments, trading and/or exchange systems.
