Jacobs is seeking a Staff Design Mechanical Engineer to support the Civil Engineering Operations program at MacDill Air Force Base.
Program Mission:
The Department of the Air Force 6th Contracting Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, FL has a continuing requirement for base civil engineering services. This includes base operations support, engineering, management, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure systems, construction management, minor construction, emergency management and response, environmental requirements and programs, real property management; material procurement and management, Civil Engineer (CE) deployment training and management and exercise support.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer researches, develops, plans, and designs mechanical and electromechanical products and systems that may involve nanotechnology. Oversees and coordinates activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. Activities may involve but are not limited to electric generators, internal combustion engines, steam and gas turbines, power-using machines such as refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material handling systems, elevators and escalators, industrial production equipment, and robots used in manufacturing, etc.

Essential Functions:
- Advise multi-disciplinary teams on facility development products or services to ensure successful engineering project execution.
- Evaluate engineering design, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of utilities equipment and systems to resolve any issues in a timely matter.
- Resolve engineering problems with architectural and engineering contractors, experts from other engineering functions, and co-workers.
- Write documentation to resolve disagreements concerning facilities engineering issues.
- You will evaluate engineering design, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of utilities equipment and systems to resolve any issues in a timely matter.

- Special clothing/equipment (wearing): may be required to wear PPE - steel toed shoes, safety glasses and vest when entering construction sites. 20%

- Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary. Must have flexibility of workdays to cover weekends if required.

Required Education / Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in buildings-related design projects.
- Proficiency designing with UFCs, UFGS and other Federal delivery requirements
- Experience with construction support services for building projects
- Experience with Federal (DoD, Federal Civilian, or Defense Contractor) projects
- Familiarity with Design-Build or Early Contractor Involvement project delivery
Certificate / License / Registration:
- Professional license in one of the States or US territories
- Valid Driver's License
