Description
Develop and prepare distribution voltage packages for both overhead and underground projects, including distribution equipment installation, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and new feeder design. Develop and prepare design sketches, cost estimates, bill of materials, and other required deliverables. Perform various distribution calculations, including cable pulling, voltage drop, and pole loading calculations. Apply strong knowledge of NESC standards and utility standards, guides, specifications, and procedures. Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Perform field inspections for overhead and underground electric facilities on public and private utility systems. Prepare and disseminate project communication regarding vegetation management, third-party attachments, right-of-way, and outage planning. Develop client presentations, reports, and visualizations to demonstrate technical results and project status. 25% of domestic travel required for internal meetings, site visits and client visits Telecommuting allowed up to 30 days per year.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited program, plus three (3) years of engineering experience.
Must have at least three (3) years of experience with the following:
Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET accredited program, plus two (2) years of engineering experience in lieu of Bachelor's plus three (3) years of engineering experience.
Must have at least two (2) years of experience with the following:
Telecommuting is allowed up to 30 days per year. Primarily 25% of domestic travel required for internal meetings, site visits and client visits.

- Electrical engineering principles.
- Power systems analysis, protection, control, and communication systems.
- Electric distribution system design and operation for the following: distribution transformers, overhead and underground conductors, switchgear, and protective devices.
- Computer-aided design (CAD) software and drafting tools for developing system schematics, layouts, and construction plans.
- Project management tools and techniques for managing electric distribution projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
