Insight Global is looking for a Power Distribution/ Electrical Engineering Manager to join their team in Freeport, Texas. This manager will be leading the Power Distribution Department by executing and refining management systems to ensure the safe and effective planning and execution of high voltage work at the Freeport Site. This manager will be serving as the primary backup to the Sr. Power Distribution Manager by contributing to the development of the 5-year power systems plan, collaborating with on-site partners, and engaging with the broader Electrical Community at BASF. They will be managing Power Distribution Technicians and on-site contractors directly, providing essential technical support to these teams. They will also be utilizing their strong communication skills to collaborate with site partnersincluding Engineers, Maintenance and Operations Personnel, Procurement, Stores, Accounting, Site Leadership, and manufacturing support services. In addition, the candidate will analyze site-wide AE data, evaluate trends, and recommend or implement changes to equipment strategies or maintenance programs for continuous improvement. Using their expertise in Electrical Systems to support the development and execution of capital projects is required, where they may act as the manufacturing representative. In addition, balancing priorities across multiple plants and situations while maintaining a focus on reliability processes such as Bad Actors, Root Cause Failure Analysis, and FMEA is required. The manager will ensure these processes are followed and that technical capabilities are sustained through training and succession planning.

The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $210,000 per year.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience in high voltage maintenance or operations
10+ years experience in electrical engineering (with a preference for industrial experience within large petrochemical/ chemical manufacturing facilities)
A background working for a utilities or solar company, battery farms, or renewable energy company as a principle energy
Strong understanding and troubleshooting knowledge of power distribution systems (including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relaying)
Strong experience in medium and high voltage power maintenance/ reliability (2.3KV-238KV) to establish and drive standardized work processes and standards
Proficient in power system analysis software sycg as ETAP or SKM PowerTools
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (ex. IEEE, NEC, ANSI, etc.)
Familiarity with programming and communication of SCADA systems
Knowledge with programming of SEL and GE relays
Experience leading a team alongside collaborating with site partners (including but not limited to engineers, maintenance and operations personnel, procurement, stores, accounting, site leadership, and manufacturing support services, etc.)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Plusses:
A background in electrical engineering working for / in a chemical environment
An advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (MS, MBA, etc.)
Previous management experience in this field or related
