Collins Aerospace is seeking a highly qualified, energetic, and experienced CNC Programmer to join our carbon brake manufacturing facility located in Santa Fe Springs, California. This position writes CNC programs on a variety of machines, analyzes work holding and machining techniques, and runs production tests to validate efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in CNC programming, CNC lathe operations, CNC mill operations, and machine tool standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Program and model cutting paths to insure optimal machine usage
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems with CNC machines as they arise
• Train new employees on how to operate CNC machines
• Research and test tools required to improve CNC process/cycle time reduction
• Read technical drawings and set up machines in alignment with blueprints

Basic Qualifications:

• AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• OR In the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 8 years of relevant experience is required
• OR A Bachelors degree in the appropriate discipline and less than 2 years of relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident Green Card holder

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mastercam/NX Certification/Experience
• Previous experience working in a Machine Shop
• Troubleshooting and resolving machine/tooling problems experience
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
• Experience with Mazak/Okuma/Mori Seiki equipment
• Understanding of machine tools and inserts
• Experience programming CMMs in PC DMIS
