Job Summary:
Golden Merced Care Center in Merced, California is seeking a Staffing Coordinator that is primarily responsible for scheduling nursing staff and other elements of staff support for clinical staff members while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory and organizational standards.

Essential Functions:
  • Develops and posts work schedules at least two weeks in advance.
  • Ensures timely Certified Nurse Aide (CNAs) assignment to meet needs of new admissions as well as existing residents.
  • Maintains schedule on a daily basis of any staffing changes or resident status changes and communicates accordingly
  • Facilitates the timely completion of paper work and data entry pertinent and necessary to fulfill job duties.
  • Maintains tracking system for CNA annual license renewal and OBRA compliance.
  • Notifies the Director of Nursing (DON) of short staffing situations; contacts replacement personnel and modifies schedule when required.
  • Keeps a pool of replacements and coordinates vacations and time-off requests.
  • Coordinates time-off requests with the Director of Nursing
  • Maintains records of employees who miss shifts; produces reports.
  • Coordinates with Director of Nursing to secure contract labor when necessary.
  • Communicates with residents and their families/caregivers, and with healthcare professionals and outside vendors.
  • Communicates staff assignments to managers and staff.

Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CNA Certification or Licensed Nurse in State employed.
  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Preferred : A minimum of three months' prior Nursing Assistant experience in long-term care.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
