Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities:

Perform various services for the standardized patient program with the Center for Human Simulation and Patient Safety, including but not limited to, briefing students prior to event, providing and assisting with student material creation and distribution, setup of technology for learner and staff, assist with student check in, set up of event, complete custodial (laundry, cleaning, trash removal associated with events), responsible for paging notifications for events, assist with troubleshooting during events, perform timing of events, assist with standardized patients and/or other staffing for event, assist with staffing shifts during events, assist with event log completion, assist with logistics creation and primary event execution, perform opening and closing procedures for simulation center, assist with event coordination, as needed, assist with other administrative and/or scheduling tasks, as needed, assist during staffing resource constraints, provide forward facing interactions with students, faculty and clients. As a core educational facility for the VCU School of Medicine and the VCU Health System, the Center for Human Simulation and Patient Safety (CHSPS) conducts a diverse range of courses for medical students, residents, nursing staff, fellows, attending physicians and other healthcare providers. The mission of the Center is to provide opportunities for deliberate practice of the skills required by healthcare professionals in efforts to enhance the quality of care this is provided to our patients.
