Job Summary

Timely and effective procurement, receipt, storage and control of medical supply inventory, instrumentation, and equipment utilizing a computerized inventory management system. Responsible for submitting inventory items for patient charge, coding, and price through a computerized inventory system. Employee may access secure medication supply areas to complete assigned job duties.

Responsibilities

• Procure, receive, and control medical supplies, instruments, equipment, and gases. • Control and adjust inventory levels by using cycle counts, reviewing recommended orders based on usage and visual inspection of inventory as needed. • Receive, maintain, and stock inventory items. • Perform data entry duties, inventory information changes, and medical device tracking related to the computerized inventory management system. • Perform data entry back-up for computerized inventory management system. • Prepare, monitor, and maintain reports related to inventory management. • Maintain storage of all inventory and patient charge records for designated period of storage. • Research and evaluate all inventory reports, and report/document all results • Communicate information on stock-outs and back-orders on a daily basis and follow up appropriately. • Perform vendor returns with appropriate documentation daily and in a timely manner. • Maintain "Safe Medical Device Logs" as required by law and perform product/patient information research as needed.

Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.
