Under close supervision of the Staff Services Manager II (SSM II), the student assistant will provide support to the facility analysts and occasional projects assigned by the SSM II. These tasks and duties are outline below under essential functions. Facility Services supports all aspects of both department owned and leased buildings for the California Department of Technology.

• Relocate staff and equipment

• Respond to Service Desk tickets

• Assist with updating department floorplan and seating chart diagrams

• Direct movers in the relocation of furniture and equipment

• Assist with modular furniture reconfigurations

• Prepare vacant cubicles and private offices for incoming staff

• Assist with modular and other furniture inventory located in the department's warehouse

• Assist with the management of the department's bike locker program

• Make minor temperature adjustments in conference rooms, private offices and cubicle suites.

• Submit visitor log information and escorting vendors performing facility-related work in the building

• Conduct periodic facility walk-thru and checklist

• Work closely with property managers, contractors, building engineers facilities, warehouse and security staff

Working Conditions
The Student Assistant will work a varied shift between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The candidate must be dependable, punctual, work well with others, and exercise good judgment. The Student should be able to understand and follow oral and written directions, ability to meet deadlines, perform work with a high degree of accuracy, and show interest in assuming increased responsibility. The student may have exposure to confidential data and will be required to sign and adhere to a confidentiality statement. The student must have familiarity with industry-standard communication tools and methodologies for teleworking such as MS Teams, Skype, WebEx, and Zoom.

The Student must be registered as a graduate student, carrying a minimum of 4 semester units, or 6 quarter units, possess a minimum 3.5 GPA,
