Virginia Peninsula Community College is a two-year institution of higher education established as a part of a statewide system of community colleges. It primarily serves the residents of the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of James City and York.

This position fulfills the critical need of ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable compliance by Virginia Peninsula students with institutional policies and regulations related to Title IX, the student code of conduct as well as athletic eligibility for the athletes. Additionally, the Student Conduct and Compliance Coordinator will assist the Director of Athletics with the athletic certification and reporting processes to the NJCAA .
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Experience handling multiply cases at one time.
  • Demonstrated experience with policy and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience with serving diverse population in gender, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, socio-economic status, etc.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity as well as working with a wide range of constituencies with diplomacy and tact.
  • Considerable relevant experience in any areas of student conduct process, administrative, civil rights, law investigations or related areas.




Knowledge
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Title IX, VAWA , federal and state laws, codes and regulations.
  • Through knowledge of NJCAA and the Regional Conference athletic compliance, and other student conduct policies and/or other related regulations.


Skills
  • Attention to detail with a focus on quality.
  • Skilled in the operation of office equipment, software such as student information systems.
  • Strong skills in conflict resolution, problem solving techniques, interviewing and investigation.
  • Strong analytical skills • Skill in writing concise, logical, analytical reports to convey complex issues.
  • Strong skills in monitoring/processes or services to make improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using conduct management software and other relevant technology.
  • Proficient in Office 365 Suite.
  • Demonstrated technical skills sufficient to comprehensively use and oversee a secure database.

  • Experience in a community college setting.
