Job Description

Coordinate Student Research Program The Education Program Coordinator will assist with execution of the strategic plan for the office of medical student research, provide students with general resources/research support, build and maintain a website with links to a comprehensive list of internal and external / national resources, maintain a database of departmental research opportunities, curate and update a list of off-site/regional/national opportunities, create and distribute a regular newsletter, track student publications and presentations, provide assistance with obtaining grant support, interface with and assist the Student Council research chairs and liaisons, and help track outcomes/productivity of departmental faculty research contacts.

Duties:
  • Provides support and assistance in the identification, development and delivery of student research programs or initiatives. Typically works under general supervision, while performing assignments that are varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involve limited responsibility.
  • Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Student Scholarship, assists with planning, development, and implementation of designated student research programs and services to ensure quality of programs.
  • Supports preparation of grant writing initiatives, budgets, and related information.
  • Coordinates and distributes course/program evaluations. Communicates with clients on participant satisfaction metrics. Analyzes customer feedback for trends and discrepancies.
  • Maintains an updated database of on-campus and external student research opportunities.
  • Monitors student and departmental research activities and reports updates to program managers and assistants.
  • Serves as a liaison between student, college and departmental research contacts.
  • Compiles information and prepares reports.
  • Assists in making travel arrangements and reimbursements.
  • May create, update, and maintain websites.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.


Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or related field, AND:
  • 12 months of administrative or program support experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases
  • Ability to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:
