Department Summary

The mission of the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of North Texas is to enhance student development through membership in CFSL organizations. Students are encouraged to emphasize academic excellence, philanthropic participation, personal development, and social development. We strive to create a unified campus through positive relations with the administration, faculty, and all CFSL and non-CFSL student organizations. Through these endeavors, the Center for Fraternity and Sorority Life strives to complement the mission of the University of North Texas.

Position Overview

This position is responsible for the initiation, development, and coordination of student-centered programs with campus wide impact. Position is responsible for implementation and management of program(s) and related activities/events, budget management, program assessment and serving as the primary program liaison.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field and two years' of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent public speaking skills with experience in conducting training workshops.
• Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
• Experience in networking across departments and programs.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects. • Ability to foster relationships with students, alumni, advisors, and campus partners to ensure the success of programs and services
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer skills.
• Some experience in customer service is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in related field and two years of student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Membership in a local/national/international fraternity/sorority.

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Job Duties:
  • Maintains appropriate liaison between FSL and division offices, plus related areas (UPD, SGA, RHA, Police, Union, etc.)
  • Completes special projects and assignments
  • Participates in professional development activities
  • Assist in developing chapter grade reports at the end of each long semester
  • Monitors Sorority House door access system and creates weekly report
  • Actively participates in ongoing assessment activities
  • Is a Campus Safety Authority for the purposes of Clery and reports Clery crimes according to policy and federal law
  • Assist with the supervision of FSL Interns (when applicable)
  • Meets regularly with Auxiliary Services and keeps Director informed regarding house needs

M-F, 8am-5pm + some evenings and weekends
