Summary
  • Position Summary
    • Reporting to the Director, Neuroscience Service Line, and working in collaboration with EEG Department Medical Director, this position is responsible for providing operational oversight of the activities of Electroencephalogram (EEG) services and its personnel at MMC and MMP Neurology locations. Provides training, educational updates, review of tests performed and counseling of subordinates. Performs all aspects of the EEG Technologist position. Fosters collaborative work environment, ensuring compliance with Federal, State and hospital and practice regulations, policies and procedures. Must maintain competency in collection of EEG data for routine EEGs, Interventional Radiology, Evoked Potentials, Continuous EEG, long term epilepsy monitoring and Ictal Specs. Actively contributes to the professional growth of direct reports of the END team.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred. Bachelor's or Master's degree in healthcare administration, business or related field preferred.
    • License/Certifications: Graduate of a CAAHEP Accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program. Candidates who hold CNIM or CLTM advanced credentials preferred. Required to complete 10 CEU's per year to maintain ABRET credential. Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
    • Experience: Relevant experience as determined by the Director, Neuroscience Service Line is acceptable in lieu of degree. Three to five years of progressive management experience in medium to large sized hospitals preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with seriously ill or agitated patients as well as other healthcare professionals throughout the organization.
    • Skill in using EEG equipment in line with safety, infection control and quality protocols.
    • Ability to review, clip, store continuous EEG, ambulatory EEG, and EMU studies in accordance with department protocols.
    • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with peers, managers and physicians.
    • Ability to set priorities during high activity or abrupt patient scheduling changes.
    • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
