Job Title - Federal Programs Supervisor

Reports to: Federal Programs Coordinator

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Goals
  • To assist the Federal Programs Coordinator in facilitating the federal programs for the school system.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in appropriate area (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  2. Three (3) years' experience working with Federal Programs or in a Title I school setting.
  3. Valid Alabama certification in administration/supervision (optional).
  4. Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
  5. Knowledge of federal programs (Title I, Title II, Title III, Title VI, CRSD, Title IX, ESEA, ESL, etc.) and related regulations.
  6. Knowledge of collaborative budgeting process and ability to monitor and evaluate spending of federal funds.
  7. Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills in group settings.
  8. Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication.
  9. Effective interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on communication and collaboration with a wide variety of people and groups, as well as government agencies.
  10. Ability to use effective public relations skills necessary for the successful implementation of new programs.
  11. Ability to use technology for instructional planning, communication, presentations, research, data analysis, budgeting, record keeping, reporting, scheduling and other job responsibilities as required.
  12. Physical mobility and visual acuity to visit schools and classrooms for the improvement of programs.
  13. Ability to be punctual and in regular attendance.
  14. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  1. Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
  2. Assists with program evaluations, operations, management, and strategic planning for system's federal programs.
  3. Assists in the preparation for ALSDE Compliance Monitoring.
  4. Assists schools with the development and implementation of comprehensive improvement plans, professional development plans, and other plans involving federal funds.
  5. Assists in organizing and conducting annual needs assessments or other applicable review or evaluation of program.
  6. Assists in the maintaining the Federal budgets and ensures that expenditures are in accordance with Title funds and federal guidelines.
  7. Provides support between the school administrators and the central office for federal programs.
  8. Assists in coordinates required in-service and professional development activities for program improvement.
  9. Ability to use technology to communicate, manage data, ad produce/submit required reports, correspondence, and other job responsibilities as required.
  10. Assists in reviews and evaluating the results of student testing programs and other evaluative measures used by the school system for continuous improvement of the school program.
  11. Represents the school system as directed at conferences, committee sessions, training seminars, community meetings, etc.
  12. Performs duties in a courteous and professional manner.
  13. Maintains confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
  14. Models and maintains high ethical standards.
  15. Demonstrates initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  16. Maintains expertise in assigned area to fulfill project goals and objectives.
  17. Participates successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment.
  18. Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner.
  19. Serves on school/system committees as required or appropriate.
  20. Demonstrates support for the school system and its goals and priorities.
  21. Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement.
  22. Engages in professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and effective leadership.
  23. Reports potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel.
  24. Properly uses and cares for equipment and material resources of the school system and effectively supervises and monitors others in the care, maintenance, and use of tools, equipment, and inventory.
  25. Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner.
  26. Maintains and submits reports, records, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
  27. Physical mobility, and visual acuity to visit schools are other necessary areas to perform job responsibilities.
  28. Uses effective collaboration skills to work as a productive team member.
  29. Reports absences and takes leave in accordance with Board policies and procedures; prepares for substitutes according to Board policies and school procedures.
  30. Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local Board policies, and state, federal, and local regulations.
  31. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  32. Performs any other job-related duties as assigned by the Federal Programs Coordinator or Assistant Superintendent.

Terms of Employment: Twelve-month position in accordance with Board approved salary schedule.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Baldwin County Board of Education policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
