Job Description:
To supervise pharmacy technician staff including, but not limited to, scheduling, training, evaluating and disciplining. To provide recommendation to manager regarding staff selection, promotion and termination. To perform supply and medication inventory control functions.

• Supervises pharmacy technicians in area of responsibility. Schedules work assignments and evaluates performance of pharmacy technicians. Orients and trains new staff. Ensures staff compliance with all internal policies and external regulatory standards. Assists as necessary with interviewing, staff selection and staff counseling.

• Supervises the inventory control process for assigned area; ensures adequate stock levels are maintained. Orders necessary supplies and ensures all proper paperwork is completed and maintained. Utilizes computerized inventory control system.

• Manages the pharmacy credit and return process.

• Provides reports as requested relative to inventory levels and ordering activities.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently registered or eligible to be registered as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern/extern by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required. Active registration will be required prior to date of hire.
