The Supervisor - Plant Admin Support is responsible for providing general supervision of plant office personnel for multiple manufacturing/retail sites in the Coastal Texas area. This role will be instrumental in providing training for current and new employees, in addition to providing software application support for POS, Inventory, Purchasing, and Timekeeping. The Supervisor will periodically conduct site internal control policies/procedures audits. The position assists Plant Managers with recruiting and performance management of the office clerical staff for each site.

Essential Functions

General supervision of Plant Office Administrators (POA's) ("dotted line" relationship):The Supervisor assists the plant managers with recruiting and performance management of the POAs; responsible for quality and timeliness of reports generated by plant operations, and responsible for compliance with corporate and division practices and policies.

Training new POAs and providing continuing training to all POAs:The Supervisor is responsible for the initial training of new POAs. The training will be conducted over the first weeks of the POA's employment, which will include Point-of-Sales application, Equipment Management System, Inventory Systems, KRONOS (time keeping), Procurement, and other plant applications and reports.

As the need arises, ongoing training activities will also be the responsibility of the Supervisor.

Division Plant Responsibility Audits: The Supervisor completes plant site audits that are based on company policies and internal control procedures. The audits are scheduled at least once a year for each plant location and more frequently, as conditions dictate.

Application support: The Supervisor provides "tier 1" software support for plant applications. This includes, but is not limited to, the Oracle Financial Reporting, KRONOS timekeeping, Equipment Management System (EMS), Inventory Control, Procurement, and APEX POS ticketing system.

Financial Analysis: Provide support to division management in all areas impacting plant internal controls. Must possess skills to conduct both high level and detailed research to identify and understand potential areas of improvement. Have the ability to analyze, design and recommend the implementation of sound business solutions using available software. Work closely with the management teams from operations and basic accounting, when conducting audits, presentations and training sessions.

Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, related field (preferred but not required) and/or extensive field experience.

Experience: Supervisory experience is a plus.

  • Effectively utilizes information and resources within work area. Ability to prioritize, solve problems and provide leadership within the office environment.
  • Must be a licensed driver and be able visit office sites regularly throughout the assigned area.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Experience with Oracle financials and KRONOS a plus
