Summary

This position is in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Consumer Response and Education (CRE) Division, Office of Financial Education (FinEd). FinEd works to inform and amplify the CFPB's policy work to consumer audiences, conduct and disseminate consumer research, and manage the CFPB's diverse suite of educational tools, resources, and content accessed by millions of consumers annually.

Duties

As a Supervisory Program Manager, Financial Education, you will:
  • Work with the Office for Financial Education leadership, as well as senior leaders from across the CRE division to plan, establish, direct, coordinate, and evaluate CFPB's financial education programs.
  • Leverage product management expertise to lead the development and execution of the organization's product vision, strategy, and roadmap for its diverse set of digital educational tools, web content and consumer print publications program.
  • Provide expert recommendations to executive leadership regarding the sunsetting, investing, and streamlining of the CFPB's inventory of consumer educational resources and tools based on user testing, web analytics, and CFPB policy priorities.
  • Formulate, develop, implement, and manage needed policies, procedures, guidelines, and systems for conducting financial education functions effectively and efficiently in support of the Office's mission.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience for CN-61:

To qualify at CN-61, you must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower band/grade (CN-53, GS-13 or equivalent) in the Federal service. For this position specialized experience is defined as:
  • Developing and executing product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a diverse set of external-facing tools (digital, web, and print); AND
  • Collaborating with partners or stakeholders to design or implement consumer financial education initiatives; AND
  • Developing or analyzing persuasive content related to consumer financial products or services; AND
  • Supervising a subordinate workforce or leading a team; AND
  • Communicating presentations and decisions options in writing and verbally upwards and to broad audiences, including senior leadership.


CFPB uses an experience-based process to set pay for employees. Experience is evaluated and credited using the employee's résumé. Part-time experience will be credited pro-rata based on a 40-hour work week, while work of 32 hours or more will be rounded up to full-time experience.
