Position Summary

The Support Services Aide - Housekeeping works in the Blue Mountain Care Center housekeeping/laundry and is to follow established facility policies and procedures; in order to effectively perform duties assigned. Follow all safety guidelines in accordance with rules and regulations. The Support Services Aide will adhere to appropriate precautions and techniques in each department in regard to hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, medical waste and/or equipment. Perform routine cleaning of resident rooms, resident care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning of all areas within the facility according to standards, procedures and best practices as set forth by the Housekeeping Department (Housekeeping and Laundry).
  • Adheres to Infection Control standards set by the Blue Mountain Hospital District and Blue Mountain Care Center.
  • Required to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts as set by the Manager of Environmental Services and Facilities.
  • May be expected to work beyond scheduled working hours as workload necessitates.
  • Accomplishes housekeeping, laundry and linen duties.
  • Assures compliance with applicable standards and requirements set by Blue Mountain Hospital, Blue Mountain Care Center, CMS, Infection Control, and Internal Housekeeping Policies.
  • Coordinates cleaning schedules with other departments as necessary.
  • Assures that adequate supplies are maintained in restrooms and common areas.
  • Assists in demonstrating new products and cleaning techniques as necessary.
  • Performs regular inspections to assure clean and sanitary conditions are maintained.
  • Ensures that all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored properly during shift, and at the end of shift.
  • Perform extra cleaning duties when requested from supervisor or other departments.
  • Maintains knowledge on the use and storage of all chemicals/products used.
  • Operates all equipment in the respective departments according to established policies and procedures; reports any equipment failures or misuse to Manager of Support Services
  • Assures that work area/department is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner; reports safety concerns to Manager of Support Services
  • Communicates supply needs to Manager of EVS and Facilities
  • Required to wear scrubs and name tag during all shifts.
Education, Experience & Certification/Licensure

Required:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
