Responsibilities

This job is responsible for overseeing daily surgery scheduling operations across multiple CHI Franciscan Health (CHI-FH)
campuses in accordance with established procedures and regulatory guidelines, including updating scheduling blocks and
related activities in the electronic medical records (EMR) system for all perioperative sites and operating rooms.

Work includes: 1) serving as central point-of-contact to Patient Access (Conifer)/clinics/hospitals and other entitles with regard
to scheduling system/procedures/issues; 2) providing performance feedback and on-the-job training to scheduling staff as
appropriate; 3) maintaining staff schedules to facilitate appropriate coverage to ensure smooth operations; and 3)
researching, troubleshooting and resolving scheduling and related errors. An incumbent also participates in the
development and implementation of new work flow and/or procedures and directly performs surgery scheduling activities
as necessary.

Work involves monitoring/assessing a wide variety of critical elements with potential for impacting revenue, patient care
and physician relations. Job duties require the application of the knowledge/skills represented by operating room (OR)
work experience in order to understand OR operations/workflow and to apply independent judgment to the oversight of
surgery scheduling activities and process improvement initiatives. Knowledge of the functionality and use of automated
OR systems, and expertise in producing consolidated reports and overseeing the work of assigned staff is also required.

Qualifications

A minimum of three years of related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job
knowledge/abilities, including on year in a senior scheduler or lead capacity.
