The System Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing network systems, databases, and IT infrastructure to ensure seamless operation and security. This role requires a solid background in business concepts, network management, and database design, along with supervisory experience. The ideal candidate will have a BS Degree or equivalent military or corporate experience and will be proficient in advanced network optimization methods, database management, and system administration.

THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
Network Management:
  • Design, implement, and manage network systems to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Perform advanced network optimization methods to enhance system efficiency.
  • Oversee network operating systems and ensure proper configuration and security.
Database Administration:
  • Manage and maintain RDBMS databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
  • Oversee all phases of database design and implementation.
  • Apply quality assurance principles and adhere to database standards and rules of normalization.
System Administration:
  • Administer and support Unix-based systems, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure system security, performance, and reliability through regular updates and maintenance.
  • Monitor and manage system resources to prevent and address issues proactively.
Business and IT Integration:
  • Apply good business practices in Information Technology to align IT solutions with organizational goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on IT infrastructure improvements based on business needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of IT staff and ensure effective team performance.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
  • Manage and prioritize IT projects and initiatives.

WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)
  • This individual shall possess a BS Degree or equivalent military or corporate experience and at least 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • The System Administrator shall possess demonstrated experience in business concepts, accounting principles, network management and design.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust Security Clearance
  • Demonstrated experience shall include supervisory experience in a similar position.
  • This individual shall have the following experience as a minimum:
1. Advance Network optimization methods
2. RDBMS Database
3. Good business practices as they relate to Information Technologies
4. Knowledge of all phases of database design and implementation
5. Quality assurance principles
6. Database standards
7. Rules of database normalization
8. Network operating systems
9. System Administration (Unix)
10. Working knowledge of SQL.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNA Certifications is preferred, but not required.

Pay Range: Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00
