Job Description
DCS develops Army Robotics Common Software (ARCS), which is the Ground Vehicle Systems Center's (GVSC) library of modular software package that can be used for common ground autonomy software. The United States Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), located in Warren, Michigan, is the United States Armed Forces' research and development facility for advanced technology in ground systems. GVSC is dedicated to getting robotics capability into the hands of Soldiers.
Essential Job Functions:
Drive and lead architecture changes for autonomous ground vehicle autonomy software (RTK).
Develop and mature high-level product requirements and verification and validation criteria with performance metrics.
Develop test specifications to verify high-level product requirements.
Willingness to develop and run tests using software, simulation, and/or vehicle.
Act as an integration and test engineer to collect data for robotic operating system based autonomous ground vehicle systems. Perform post-analysis of measurement data to verify agreed upon metrics.
Required Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must obtain Secret clearance.
BS in Computer Science, related engineering, or applied science field with 8 years of experience, or a Master's in Computer Science, related engineering, or applied science field with 6 experience implementing system engineering best practices, including requirement elicitation and validation.
Strong understanding of software architecture of autonomous systems.
Able to act as test engineer for a ROS - Robotic Operating System based system.
Basic knowledge of vehicle controls, sensors, autonomous systems, and functional safety.
Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and model-based development using SysML, UML tools.
Desired Skills:
Experience in robotics and autonomous systems.
Experience with understanding of behavior, planning, and motion control of a robotic system.
