Chipton-Ross is seeking a System Safety Engineer 3 for a contract opportunity in Northridge, CA.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Activities include system safety analysis of military weapon systems, participation in risk assessments/resolution and mishap investigations. The ideal candidate will have experience with MIL-STD-882E and familiarity with Military and their equivalent industry standards such as MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE and NFPA.

REQUIREMENTS:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 9 years of relevant/related experience or a MS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 7 years of relevant/related experience
- Demonstrated ability in the application of MIL-STD-882E to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment and procedures in order to mitigate or eliminate hazards
- Experience documenting hazards with a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System (HTS)
- Familiarity with electrical circuit design
- Demonstrated ability to apply system safety engineering principles to develop safety documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-882E such as SSPP, PHA, FHA, SHA/SuSHA, Bent Pin Analyses, FTA, SAR and Software Safety Analyses
- Demonstrated ability to develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements
- History of demonstrated leadership capabilities, ability to work independently, and effectively communicate (verbal and written) with internal and external customers

PREFERRED:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit schematics
- Experience with implementing and testing software safety requirements
- Have experience in the design of missile systems
- Strong working knowledge of military system safety and process standards and their Industry equivalent such as MIL-STD-882, RCC 319, AFSPCMAN 91-710, ASTM, ANSI, NEC, AFOSH, AOP-52, JOTP-051, PESHE, NFPA
- Knowledge of System Safety Incident Investigation process

EDUCATION:
BS in Electrical Engineering or a relevant degree is required.
School must be accredited.

HOURS:
9/80 workweek. 100% Onsite
