The Information Technology (IT) Manager's role is to ensure the streamlined operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization while maintaining essential infrastructure including applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, network, file servers, D/R, and all related hardware.

This individual will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the IT department. The Manager will work closely with business decision-makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. This person will also define and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices while maintaining and tracking the budget of the department across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

• Lead IT Department's operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiating the allocation of resources.

• Participate at a high level in the conversion and implementation of new company wide ERP system.

Acquisition & Deployment

• Benchmark, analyze report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.

• Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.

• Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.

• Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provision.

• Develop requests for proposals (RFP) documents.

• Negotiate and administer vendor, outsourcer, and consultant contracts and service agreements.

Operational Management

• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.

• Work with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

• Direct research on potential technology solutions in support of procurement efforts.

• Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.

• Analyze, define, and document system requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, interfaces with other systems, auditing, reporting requirements and production configuration.

• Write and maintain functional and technical specifications.

• Create test plans, test data sets and automated testing to ensure all components of the system meet specifications.

• Provide technical consulting and respond to error reports, problems, or questions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ten or more years of experience in IT management

• Extensive hands-on experience with the following technologies:

o Microsoft server operating systems

o MS 365 and Intune

o Wireless networks

o Enterprise backup and recovery technologies and procedures

o Network security (firewalls, end-point security)

o LAN and WAN topologies (IP subnets, routers, switches, DHCP)

o Cloud-based phone systems

o VMWare and cloud-based hosting

• VMWare ESXi

o Creating servers

• Azure hosting

o DR

o Server hosting

o Networking

o VPN tunnels
