Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tax Accountant to join our growing firm. Our firm currently serves 2,500 clients, including 700-800 businesses, and is looking for dedicated professionals to help manage our increasing workload.

Key Responsibilities of the Tax Accountant:

• Tax Preparation and Planning: Provide comprehensive tax services, including preparation and filing of individual and business tax returns.
• Client Management: Maintain and enhance client relationships through excellent service and support, ensuring timely and accurate tax submissions.
• Tax Advisory: Offer strategic tax advice to clients to optimize their tax liabilities and ensure compliance with current tax laws.
• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to manage workflow during peak tax seasons, typically 50 hours per week, without the need for weekend work.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve complex tax issues, providing innovative solutions for clients.

Qualifications of the Tax Accountant:

• Experience: Proven experience as an accountant specializing in tax, preferably within a similar-sized firm.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA is not required but is a plus.
• Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Location: Candidates must be local to the Columbia, SC area or planning to relocate independently. Relocation assistance is not provided.
