Tax Manager

Tax Manager Benefits and Compensation:

• A super casual (shorts and flip flops!), collaborative working environment in South Tampa (open to hybrid work arrangement)
• Strong leadership, high visibility, and growth potential
• Incredible work-life balance (mainly 45 hours per week, busy season slightly higher)
• Base salary of $110,000-$150,000 (commensurate with experience), plus 2x a year bonus potential, fully paid employee health insurance and 401k plan with strong match

Tax Manager Job Duties:

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of S-Corp and Partnership tax returns.
• Review tax returns prepared by staff.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Stay updated on tax law and regulation changes to identify opportunities and risks.
• Assist in preparing tax-related disclosures for financial statements.
• Research complex tax issues and guide management or clients on the tax implications of business transactions, investments, and other activities.
• Supervise and mentor tax staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Delegate tasks effectively to ensure efficient workflow and team member development.
• Build and maintain client relationships, providing high-quality tax advisory services and addressing their tax-related concerns and inquiries.
• Manage special projects as needed.

Tax Manager Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting, Finance, or a related Field
• CPA or advanced degree (e.g., Master of Taxation) or Enrolled Agent certification required
• 4+ years of relevant experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department, preparing 1120s, 1065s, etc.
• In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations
• Proficiency in Drake or Ultratax tax software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Polished professional with leadership aspirations.
