Position Overview: The Teacher Incentive Allotment System Quality Specialist will play a critical role in providing a pathway for outstanding Texas teachers to earn six-figure salaries and support the implementation of the Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). The specialist will join a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to supporting districts with the development and implementation of local designation systems. The work involves understanding and interpreting regulatory policies to design and oversee a monitoring process, managing the processing and documentation of system amendments and appeals, and providing high-quality customer service to a variety of stakeholders. The specialist will develop guidance and resources and provide engaging technical assistance opportunities to support districts and ESCs with continuous improvement of local designation systems. This position will report to the Manager of External Affairs.

Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates.

Essential Functions

Job duties are not limited to the essential functions mentioned below. You may perform other functions as assigned.

1. TIA District Monitoring: Design and oversee a monitoring system to support district continuous improvement and ensure districts are meeting all statutory requirements.

2. TIA Appeals Process: Support transparency and district buy-in by designing and managing annual appeals and grievance processes.

3. System Amendment: Design, source, vet, disseminate, and promote high-quality technical assistance and resources that will support districts in understanding change management and allow for a system amendment process.

4. Customer Service: Maintain high quality customer service with districts and external stakeholders by managing communications to support districts with policy understanding and continuous improvement.



Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university

• Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in education, including a minimum of three (3) years as a campus or district-level administrator

• Substitutions: Each advanced degree may substitute for two years of required experience

Other Qualifications

• Share the belief that all Texas students can achieve at high levels and succeed in college, career, or the military

• Ability to understand and interpret local and state policies relevant to local designation systems and the Teacher Incentive Allotment

• Demonstrated ability to develop documentation systems and procedures to monitor and track compliance with state or local policies

• Ability to present create high-quality and engaging technical assistance materials to ensure stakeholders understand complex information

• Highly adept with technology used in a virtual work environment, including web application software using standard browsers, Zoom, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheets, Teams, and Outlook)

• Skilled in manipulating, organizing, and interpreting large data sets

• Superior writing skills with demonstrated ability to compose clear and concise reports, draft proposals, create technical guidance documents, and written communications with excellent readability, grammar, and punctuation

• Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, professionalism, and flexibility to work with senior district administrators and other internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to engage in a collaborative, results-oriented team environment

• A desire to self-reflect, give/receive feedback and continuously improve
