The duties include but are not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education with a Spanish Endorsement, OR eligible for an Provisional (alternative) Certificate with an Academic Major in Spanish, OR 32 semester hours in Spanish with 19 semester hours of upper level (i.e., 300 & 400) courses, OR passing scores on the Spanish Praxis II Code 5195.

Applicants with an Academic Major in Spanish will be considered first before an applicant who has just passed the Praxis. The applicant must also take and pass all sections of the Alabama Basic Skills Test for Teachers the Core Academic Skills for Educators: Combined Test (5751) within the first year of employment (by June 1).

SALARY: As per State Matrix, depending on degree and experience. Bachelor's beginning pay: $44,225.00

**Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.**
