Position Summary
The Peer Engagement Team Lead is responsible for engaging the community and coaching peer engagement specialists. They will enhance services available to youth/young adults through programming and connections that intentionally draw upon their lived experience to help others with similar experiences.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

- Provides coaching, advocacy, and peer support to youth/young adults in accordance with the individualized service plan, including crisis support in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
- Finds value in collaboration with all treatment team providers and fosters team collaboration to ensure the youth/young adults are successful in their treatment.
- Strives to make a difference through education, empowerment, and support from training and their own lived experience.
- Acts as an advocate for positive change in youth or young adult serving systems and for reducing stigma.
- Complies with documentation requirements according to agency policies.
- Engages community partners through hosting or assisting with community events that support youth/young persons in their recovery.
- Model's self-help and self-advocacy, utilizing the principles outlined by the Peer Code of Values and Competencies
- Supports staff in the provision of services and models appropriate provision of care.
- Assists program manager in recruiting, hiring, orienting, training and other personnel tasks for the team.
- Assists program manager with identifying and assigning referrals.
- Provides ongoing support and coaching to all peer specialists.
- Completes administrative tasks, such as attending training, meetings, serving on committees as assigned, engaging in supervision as identified and according to policy.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Minimum of two years of lived experience.
- Supervisory/leadership/coaching skills.
- Lived experience and willingness to utilize lived experience within their role.
- CHW/CRS certified or willing to receive CHW/CRS training required
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate effective engagement skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with community partners.
- Ability to work as a treatment team member.
- Demonstrates skill and sensitivity to cultural differences.
- Ability and willingness to travel on behalf of agency behavior and work in a youth/young person's home and community setting.
