Data privacy engineering is a new technological territory that hasn't been well defined in our industry; by joining the team, you will have chance to refine the data privacy framework, use advanced privacy technology, and make a big impact on TikTok and our community.

As a Tech Lead in the TikTok Privacy team, you will cooperate with other leads to build the cutting edge system/service that is "privacy aware", include:

- Work closely with cross function teams to get alignment on product and operation strategy.
- Design and implement innovative methods, mechanisms to solve complex business problems and improve core metrics.
- Design and drive product architecture design, including data model, persistence, core logic and APIs.
- Provide technical leadership and directions to the team and mentor other engineers.

Qualifications

Minimum qualification:
- BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent majors
- 5+ years of working experience;
- Experienced in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications;
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills leading projects across multiple teams/orgs.

Preferred Qualification:
- Experience in building up privacy related products
- 2+ years of experience in distributed systems domain;
