Working very independently, under very general supervision, uses existing methods to analyze complex datasets at a professional level. Writes code and may also develop new computational methods. Develops modification of existing methods and writes scripts, as appropriate. In collaboration with other members of the research team, gives input to the development of computational methods and analysis workflows. May be responsible for orienting and training new staff.
This position requires a one-year commitment minimum.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the transfer and organization of data for the AMP-AIM consortium.
- Assist group members in analyzing high throughput sequencing and imaging data. This includes, but is not limited to, single cell RNAseq, bulk RNAseq, single cell ATACseq, bulk ATACseq, ChIPseq, and spatial transcriptomics.
- Evaluate advanced AI methods for analysis of genomics and imaging data.
- Develop methods and pipelines for processing high-throughput data. This includes, but is not limited to, single cell RNAseq, bulk RNAseq, single cell ATACseq, ChIPseq, and spatial transcriptomics.
- Present research work regularly to internal stakeholders/ the external community.
- Work with collaborators to provide biological interpretation of the data and propose further experiments.
- Contribute to writing manuscripts for publication.
- Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSc in a biological/physical/mathematical/computational/statistical field required
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of initiative and ability to work with little supervision
- Strong programming skills
- Good understanding of statistics
- Basic understanding of genomics and molecular biology
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Strong programming skills in programming languages R or Python
- Good understanding of standard workflow for high throughput sequencing data
- Good writing skills including knowledge of grammar as well as spelling and punctuation
- Ability to prioritize in order to meet deadlines
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to carry out responsibilities accurately and independently
- Mature and professional manner, discretion and confidentiality a must
- Experience using cloud computing and high-performance clusters
- Proficient in working with unstructured data and transforming raw data into actionable insights
- Experience with data manipulation, cleaning and management
- Able to effectively present research results to research team and other collaborators
- Ability to identify potential problems and trouble-shoot solutions
