We are looking for a Research Technician with molecular experience, microscopy experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to attain a high degree of independence in a new and dynamic research environment. In this role, the individual will conduct a variety of experiments including cell culture, sequencing, histology, animal handling, and microscopy.

Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs immunohistochemistry and microscopy.

2. Maintains tissue cultures and performs molecular biology techniques including sequencing, cloning, and viral transfections.

3. Handle animals (including stereotactic surgeries).

4. Record data, summarizes, and analyzes results using basic statistics.

5. Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment.

6. Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.

7. All other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in a biological/physical science required.

Ideally 0.5-1 years of previous experience in a research environment.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

1. Good organizational skills, detail oriented

2. Sound degree of computer literacy

3. Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistic

4. Good interpersonal and communication skill

5. Ability to demonstrate professionalism

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Require work in an environment where animals are used for research.

• Position may at times require the employee to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials are present.
