Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be managing the targeting and strategic planning of key pursuit accounts and leading the promotion of ABB natural gas analytical solutions in the West Texas region. The ideal candidate will be technically sound, well-spoken, driven and capable of exceeding our customer's needs and winning oil and gas solutions business for ABB. This role is contributing to the Process Automation Measurement & Analytics division in Houston, TX. You will be mainly accountable for: identify potential natural gas analytical projects and present ABB solutions that are fit-for-purpose for our customers. Effectively present the best solutions for our customers that meets and exceeds their expectations. Monitor market trends and recommend adjustments for the strategy and plans accordingly to meet changing market and competitive landscapes. Communicates the end user value proposition for ABB natural gas analytical solutions (internally and externally). Responsible for achieving key targets (e.g. volume, price, and mix) for the West Texas Region. Ensures the major Analytical accounts in the Region are identified and prioritized. Builds and maintains strong relationships with the key customers in the region. Works closely with the relevant Sales organization to help in the identification and capture of future business. Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contract agreements and prices across segments. Reports by segment to accurately measure progress and uses common tools to identify future opportunities.

Qualifications for the role

  • Associates Degree in technology with combined 5 years' experience in instrumentation as either a customer, selling, technician or project manager preferred.
  • Solid understanding of gas quality measurement products and technologies used throughout the oil and gas industry. Special areas of interest include online natural gas and process NGL analyzers, including TDL and RVP application expertise. Leverage any existing relationships in the industry to bring new selling opportunities to ABB.
  • Ability to design solutions particular to the customer's needs while driving ABB products into the solution.
  • Overnight travel is estimated to be up to 100 nights per year depending on territory (30%-50%).
