The Technical Support Specialist provides high-quality computer-related technical support to a wide range of constituents electronically, by phone, or in person. This person will ensure that all calls/requests for assistance received by the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) IT Desktop/AV group are thoroughly tracked and answered. They will ensure that all requests for assistance are being handled as efficiently as possible and know when to escalate urgent issues.

As a member of LKSOM tech they will also be working as a valued part of a team with an outstanding support reputation. This group supports multiple department administration offices, research labs, classrooms, and conference rooms and is responsible for supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and classroom AV technology across multiple buildings on the Temple Health Science campus.

The ideal candidate will have strong Microsoft Windows OS and Apple macOS troubleshooting skills and be familiar with mobile technologies (laptops, tablets, and smartphones). They will be able to provide technical solutions that improve the efficiency of LKSOM support operations. Review documentation for correctness before release to supported university constituents. They will actively participate in the testing and evaluation of software for upcoming new platforms. They have demonstrated the ability to research relevant technologies and offer insight into the possible use of these technologies, showing that they actively stay abreast of IT support challenges and offerings.
Typical hours are 8am to 5pm, M-F, with flexibility to work evening or weekend hours if necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
A Bachelor's degree and one year of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
*Proven outstanding customer service, in-person and telephone skills along with the ability to interact with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
*Solid working knowledge of PC and Mac system configuration, troubleshooting and software installation
*Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management
*Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills along with writing skills.
*Strong familiarity with mobile technology, especially Android and iOS
*Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed
*Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

Preferred
*Knowledge of higher education environment and applications (such as Canvas, Banner or other applications such as Video Editing software or Adobe Creative Suite) a plus
*Knowledge experience supporting web conferencing/Zoom in classroom or meeting settings a plus

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
