Insight Global is currently hiring for a Technical Writer for a medical device manufacturing client. This role is looking for someone who can write and maintain external communications including user, installation and service manuals, technical data sheets and training materials, as well as internal support documents. The ideal candidate will also write online help or technical articles if needed, as well as plan, estimate, and manage moderately complex projects, participate in usability testing and post-project reviews.

Responsibilities:
Plans and estimates moderately complex projects.
Writes and revises technical documents using department software tools, templates and editorial/content standards.
Coordinates the work and keeps other contributors informed as needed.
Researches technical information and stays informed of project status related to assignments.
Conducts technical reviews to ensure appropriate and accurate content.
Supports usability testing as needed.
Develops production files and coordinates translation and production as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in technical communications, journalism, engineering, instructional design, and technology, other relevant fields with science/technology classes, or equivalent experience.
2-4 years of experience documenting technical products (3-5 years additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree)
Experience managing complex technical writing projects including negotiation/coordination of activities, writing manuals, estimating, scheduling, and completing procurement activities
Ability to gather information through research and interviewing experts in order to translate knowledge into effective and clear communications based on technical writing practices, guidelines, processes, and tools.
Understanding of usability testing basics.
